the new you
tired
of hearing you
seeing you
being around you
the thoughts too busy to keep up
try and keep up
how could someone who you once knew
a different hue
now a toss up
needs to shape up
if you hate
all of you
how can possibly anyone
maybe like you
too
a trickle of time
it’s crazy to think of what just
barely was
and now what
barely is
isn’t it crazy how we can change so much
and so much can change
in such little time
time travels and feels so slow until you look back and realize
where did the time go?
today I woke up from a dream
where the trickle of time turned into a full blown stream
thirteen years had passed
passing the time is too easy when you’re asleep
it got me to thinking about
just how crazy it is to think of
what is
and
what was
how I used to live through everyday not realizing that I wasn’t
living every day
going through all the motions with a notion
of what I was missing
I don’t want to survive
surviving is eays
I want to
feel alive
every day
I don’t want to look back over the years and see a silhouette
of soul searching
without a real feeling that my soul was truly searched
now perched on my bed
a bit parched
as I’m thinking about tthoughts
thinking of time traveling like a trickle
until you realize just how much time you have
lost
a heart wrapped in celophane
there was
a heart wrapped in cellophane
a heart tightly enclosed
its heartbeat
frozen
broken
its energy now barren
the plastic that chooses to snare
the livid lair
of love
tries to tame
the pain
with cellophane
it shoves away
the feelings
which want
to swindle and stay
the heart now
stifled and succumbed to a sheet
of restraint
a soul
locked up
is a soul
that someone
sole
a heart trapped in cellophane
is this control?
